Kamogelo...a warm welcome to both local residents and visitors from afar. Mokolodi Nature Reserve is situated in a magnificent 12,355 acre acacia bushveld valley, just 15 kilometers south of our capital city, Gaborone. It is home to a wide variety of indigenous wild game, bird and reptile species, some of which are rare and vulnerable to the threat of extinction.
Established by the Mokolodi Wildlife Foundation in 1994, the Nature Reserve serves as a protected environmental and conservation education area, placed in trust for the children of Botswana. The nation's President, His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, is the Wildlife Foundation's Patron.
The Nature Reserve sees over 60,000 people per year pass through its gates, to take part in a range of exciting game viewing activities, to stay at Mokolodi's chalets or camp sites, take part in conferences at the magnificent World's View Centre and to dine at the Mokolodi Restaurant. Amongst Mokolodi's gifts to the public are its inclusiveness and accessibility, enabling both local and international visitors to escape into the bush to experience and enjoy a very special environment.
