The most prominent conservation project undertaken by Mokolodi is of course the white rhino breeding programme. An animal once on the very edge of extinction, Mokolodi's contribution to the protection and recovery of the white rhino population in Botswana and southern Africa is of particular importance. The project enjoys continued success and since 1994, no less than 17 white rhino calves have now been born here.
Mokolodi has a wildlife sanctuary and clinic, which rely heavily upon donation in cash and in kind for their continued operation. The clinic supports sick or injured wildlife, often rescued by members of the public. Our Reptile Park also serves important conservation and educational roles and focuses particularly upon snakes.
