Conservation Manager


Vacancy - Urgent

Description:
At least 3 years proven track record in the role of Conservation / Environmental Manager, with a minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree. Preference will be given to applicants with a PHD in a conservation / environment / biology field.
The Conservation Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of Mokolodi Nature Reserveís Conservation Department and conservation activities with a mission to develop MNR into a model conservation and educational facility that is financially sustainable and that is well staffed with motivated employees. The Conservation Manager will assist the Park Manager in ensuring the effective running of the Reserve and assist in improving the Reserve.

Job requirements
Management of all aspects of Mokolodiís Conservation Programme: Managing game population dynamics, determining carrying capacities, environmental education, conservation planning, research and monitoring, veldt management, infrastructure maintenance, reserve security, staff management and training.
Applicants should be able to liaise with government and private stakeholders; be computer literate (MS Office); be capable of developing and managing budgets and develop funding proposals (in English) and be able to supervise and mentor research students. A willingness to work irregular hours will be required.

Package: Market related remuneration, including accommodation, company contribution towards medical aid and work vehicle.

Head Guide


Applications are invited for the position of a Head Guide at Mokolodi Nature Reserve.

The successful applicant will be on a monthly salary with basic housing, utilities and uniform, and should have all of the following qualifications:

- A Professional Guides License
- Class B Drivers License AND a PRDP
- Fluent in English and Setswana
- Secondary School Certificate
- 5 years experience in the field
- Valid First Aid certification

The applicant should also possess the following qualities:

- Be prepared to work long irregular hours
- Have administration skills and be capable of managing people
- Specialist skills in wildlife and related subjects
- Aptitude for practical work
- Be able to work in the tourist industry
- Necessary people skills

Guides


Applications are invited for the position of a Guide at Mokolodi Nature Reserve.

The successful applicants will be on a monthly salary with basic housing, utilities and uniform, and should have all of the following qualifications:
