Environmental Education Manager
Mokolodi Nature Reserve is looking for an Environmental Education Manager to manage its education programmes, education centre and out reach activities.
Position: Environmental Education Manager
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Park Manager, the Environmental Education Manager will be responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of the Mokolodi Wildlife Foundation (Mokolodi Nature Reserve) Environmental Education Programme, its activities and staff.
Required skills: The ability to effectively communicate with all ages of children and adults, especially in relation to wildlife, conservation and environmental matters. Other desirable skills / attributes include knowledge of Botswana’s environmental education curriculums, ability to design programmes for children and adults of all ages and for those from varying walks of life.
Key Responsibilities
The EE Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the development of linkages and networking between schools (private and government), Ministry of Education and the community as well as creating relationships and negotiating agreements for new schools; development and implementation new curriculum; continued implementation of the existing programme; proposal development and donor fundraising and reporting and; the management of the Education Centre facilities.
The successful candidate will meet most, if not all of the following:
- Bachelor’s qualification in environmental education, conservation or related field (post graduate qualifications an added advantage).
- At least 5 years’ experience in the conservation field, with experience in education, management, leadership and administration
- Past teaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop programmes and work according curriculums
- Sound knowledge of current environmental and conservation issues
- Passion for linking education to wildlife conservation and environmental issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication (with fluency in English being essential and Setswana an added advantage)
- Ability to work with and manage budgets
- Driver’s license is essential.

Maintenance Manager
The ideal candidate should be an experienced hands-on manager, capable of both proactively managing the reserves infrastructure and equipment as well as being physically able and also capable of undertaking these tasks him or herself.
The applicant should have at least 5 – 7 years suitable experience with a working knowledge in vehicle mechanics (including diesel), infrastructure maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, building etc) and should be of general handy-man capability.
Duties will include maintenance of buildings, vehicles, boreholes and pumps as well as overseeing maintenance staff and implementing a planned maintenance schedule..
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring that the property is well maintained in accordance with the standard implemented by the reserve
Ensuring that sufficient planning and management is in place for effective service delivery.
Overseeing, managing and training the maintenance team.
Developing an annual budget to meet the for reserves maintenance requirements.
Job requirements are:
Relevant qualifications and or apprenticeship
Computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel)
Above average communication and inter-personal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Valid driver’s license
Candidate must be fluent in English (Read, write and speak). Ability to communicate in Setswana an added advantage.

Snake Park Attendant
Description:We are looking for a Snake Park Attendant who has experience working with snakes and reptiles in general. The successful applicant will have knowledge of snakes, reptiles and associated management thereof and will be required to handle snakes (including poisonous varieties).
Job requirements:- A professional guides license
- Drivers License and a PRDP
- Conversant in English and Setswana
- Secondary School Certificate
The applicant should also possess the following qualities ;
- Be prepared to work long irregular hours
- Be able to work with the public and give them educational talks
- Aptitude for practical work
- Be able and willing to work in the tourist industry
